Groovey Newvie hails from the backwoods of Wisconsin where he grew up on a farm.... with cows. The mooing kind.   While liking cows as a food source (No apologies, don't even try.) Mr. Newville found them less than enthralling as a career path so at a nearly age he decided to become a nationally ranked BMX freestyler...Which he did. For about 6 years. From there, "Groovey", as his friends and random hippies call him, decided to do a bunch of stuff.  That stuff includes obtaining a couple of black belts including one of them a 2nd degree in Tae Kwon Do at Sereffs here in Colorado, becoming a professional stunt man and a member of the Ring of Steel, publishing a slew of bad science fiction and worse, horror stories, and getting a couple of writing and publishing degrees from colleges that start with U. One of them is in Boulder where he also was the editor of the Creative Writing Graduate School magazine: Sniper Logic. "Groovey" also has been in a few less than stellar punk bands including The Geriatric Boners, Serpent Prey, and now your friendly neighborhood Pouring Out.  Currently Mr. Newville is working on a couple of screenplays and has the greatest and most humbling honor of meeting really cool peoples from all around this amazing state and telling their story in the mighty CMB so that others can see their dream.  Pretty cool gig huh?

LOCAL MUSICIANS

"ROCK IT 4 NON-PROFIT"

Benefiting Mustache4Cash/Color4Kidz

October 22

7:30 p.m.

DENVER - Local Musicians from all over the Denver metro area are coming together for one night of great music for a great cause. The Gristle Gals, Bemused, Jason Vigil, and The Guilt Complex are putting on a charity concert to help raise money for at-risk youth for a fundraiser called "Rock It 4 a Non-Profit".

Casselman's Bar and Venue at 2620 Walnut Street in Denver has offered up its space, and four amazing bands will perform to raise money. The goal of the event is to raise $3,000 for The Byrne Urban Scholars and Colorado Youth at Risk, two organizations that work to help teens stay in school and graduate from high school in Colorado . All of the money collected will be directed towards scholarships, mentoring, tutoring and college prep programs.

There will be free giveaways throughout the night while collecting donations at the same time. Band members have also been raising money during the month of October in a fun and unique way. Each band members is collecting pledges from friends, family, and fans as the band members each grow a mustache and/or color their hair.

The cost for the October 22nd event is $5, and all of the proceeds will go towards "Mustache4Cash/Color4Kidz".

For additional information on how to participate or donate visit www.mustache4cash.org
