Centimani-Aegaeon CD Review

Their band name is taken from ancient Greek mythology, and Boulder’s metal stars, Centimani, definitely bring deep meaning and raw emotion with their new album Aegaeon. The disc starts off with a deep cutting instrumental tract, incorporating piano into their brutal metal sound before they dive head first into the abyss.

The album, recorded and engineered by Steve Goldberg of Cephalic Carnage, displays the band’s melodic form of heavy metal, with vocals that cut to the core atop stringing guitar solos, and a solidly defined rhythm section. “Self Aggrandizement” shows a ripping double-bass beat that will catch the attention and respect of metal drummers everywhere, while “Thyestean Banquet” is a much more melodious number featuring impressive guitar work.

Certainly not what you’d expect out of Boulder, Centimani brings a heavy dose of all that is black for the hordes of the Front Range metal heads.
