THURSDAY, MAY 10: LAUNCH @ Battery 621

6th & Kalamath, 6–10pm
Battery 621 will be transformed into a kinetic installation with local filmmakers’ “Ode to Denver” series, the 2012 Create Denver Catalyst brew by Wynkoop Brewery, live musical performances by Petals of SpainMen in Burka, and Montbello High School, activation by Yellow Design Stunt Team and mural installation by Jonathan Lamb.

FRIDAY, MAY 11: URBAN ENCOUNTERS 

SideShop: Beta 
1600 Glenarm, Suite 110, 6–8pm
24/7 shoppable windows stocked with 100% locally-designed goods. SideShop provides local creative businesses a platform to launch products and ideas without a large initial investment or risk. Product launches by The Clyfford Still Museum, AWKWRD, Winston LaneRevolution ApparelGoodApples andCreate Denver. Open through Thursday, May 31. 

ThePassage
1600 Glenarm, Suite 110, 6–8pm 
Legwork Studio will transform the inside retail space of the SideShops into an interactive environment through a combination of projection, animation and a Microsoft Kinect. Viewers can interact with the projection to change the space’s visual architecture.

KacheOut
14th & Champa LED, 7–8pm, outdoors 
Mode Set will transform the LED screen into an interactive gaming platform. The 2-player video game, based on the classic Breakout (1976, Atari), and Arkanoid (1986, Taito), utilizes a Microsoft Kinect infrared controller for hands-free, motion interaction, featuring audio-reactive 3D graphics. Game on.

SightLine
14th & Champa LED, 8–9pm 

Plus Gallery and the Denver Theatre District present a luminous display of contemporary short-form video works from international pioneers of motion-based art on the LED screen, with five works commissioned specifically for the evening by local artists. The program sustains a visual flow that is scopic in thrust and captivating to the senses.

InStereo
16th & Champa LED, 8–10pm 

Magic Cyclops and Karla Rodriguez host flash karaoke on the 16th Street Mall’s big screen. The LED will buzz with audio reactive visuals created by local VJ CacheFlow, while the community fills the air with your favorite, or not-so-favorite songs.

SATURDAY, MAY 12: CREATE DENVER EXPO

10am – 4pm – Workshops & Exhibitor Hall Open
A day of over 30 workshops for creative individuals and business owners with topics including: What You Should Know About the Future of Music, Public Art 101, Grant Writing & Crowdfunding, Business and Marketing Planning, Filmmakers on a Budget, Westword Masterminds Panel, Tax Planning for Creatives, Designing a Sustainable Colorado (AIGA SHIFT Event), and many more.

SUNDAY, MAY 13: RiNo OPEN STUDIO TOUR & UCD IRON POUR

11am-4pm
Over 40 studios, galleries and creative businesses in the RiNo Art District will be open to tour, with several locations hosting live demonstrations and special programming. From 1-5pm, the University of Colorado Denver’s Sculptor Program will hold a live iron pour demonstration on molten metal sculpture casting from. For $10 the public can carve a sand tile that will be cast in iron. Bike the district with Denver B-Cycle!
