Last month we let you know about the monthly networking events hosted in collaboration with CREATE MSU Denver, a virtual incubator for creative entrepreneurs on the Metropolitan State University of Denver campus.  We took our first steps with local Colorado music professionals in December, holding two meetings: the first was an introduction to determine who in the marketplace would like to participate; the second was a think tank of motivated icons who are dedicated to bring an educational networking forum that is certain to elevate music careers in Denver.

As a collective, we shifted the Own It Music formats from a live webinar presentation to a video series which will allow for audience interaction—a bonus, because musicians who attend can directly exchange with industry professionals. Both the recorded sessions, from 7-8 p.m., followed immediately by networking from 8-10 p.m., will give you the opportunity to share your experiences. Colorado Music Buzz will also provide live music at each networking event – so get ready to see some awesome entertainment as part of each session!

Who can you expect to weigh in for initial events to bring you a wealth of knowledge?  Our professionals include, but are not limited to: Keith Schneider and Chris Murphy, publishers of the Colorado Music Buzz Magazine (CMB), with Tim Wenger, editor of the CMB; Will Dupree, Production Manager of the Denver Post Underground Music Showcase; Tony Buffalo, Regional Manager from Guitar Center; Mike Blecha from Kinnon Entertainment; internationally renowned #1 hit recording artist Sarah Atereth; Kyle Christy from Drum City Guitarland; Ben Van Horne from Aureus Audio; Anthony Casale, Booking Agent for AEG Live’s Gothic, Ogden, Bluebird Theatres; Coop & Steve Fraga from Smash Music Management; Michael Devine from Reality Rap Records; and Sarah Slaton from the Vinefield Agency. Each participant will bring their extensive background in music AND business–guaranteed to enlighten and challenge.

Expect the first session on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. The video session allows for 50 participants – make sure you are on time as the doors will close once filming begins. Then we will overflow to IPie, 2nd Floor of the Tivoli Student Union, where we can accommodate additional participants.  This will be your opportunity to network with the movers and shakers of the Denver music scene.  CREATE MSU Denver (www.CREATEmsudenver.edu) is located on the Auraria Campus at 890 Auraria Parkway, Suite 120. Get ready to experience the Own it Music Master Mind.
