The first ever solo track “Need a Woman by Friday” (featuring Trombone Shorty) from singer-songwriter Joe King is available exclusively on iTunes today: https://itun.es/us/X-0qK. Best known as a founding member of multi Grammy-nominated The Fray, King’s new music will be released under the simple pseudonym KING.
Helping with the aesthetic and sound is Brooklyn producer Adam Pallin and Patrick Meese (Tennis, Meese). Of the new project, King notes, “To me it’s about going back to the beginnings.  Going back and changing the way I have always approached my songwriting. Finding a new way to approach production with my songs.  The slightest change for me in my writing opened up new patterns.” Furthermore, KING has confirmed select tour dates this spring. Joe King is the guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and co-founder of the Denver-based band The Fray. The band achieved national success with their first single, “Over My Head (Cable Car),” which became a top ten hit in the U.S., and the release of their second single, “How to Save a Life,” brought them worldwide fame. In addition to primary songwriting for The Fray, King also co-wrote, co-produced, and sang on the Timbaland song “Undertow,” as well as co-writes with Matt Morris (Justin Timberlake, Kelly Clarkson).
