The Rise of Marcus Arrilius, is the EP release from, you guessed it, Marcus Arrilius. The Marcus Arillius sound is an intriguing blend between ‘90s hip-hop and J. Cole. The EP has a 7-track playlist, that doesn’t have a miss on the album. From the elaborately pieced together instrumentals, to the pinpoint precision of the lyrics on the track “Only You,” produced by Martec, Arrilius tells his story about his love for hip-hop music, and how he expresses himself through it. It continues with the track “Shenobi” produced by Fat Trak, which shows Arrilius’ ability to elegantly story tell. On the track “Mr. Nice Guy,” produced by Infamous Jones, an intricate depiction of how marijuana is used as a coping mechanism. The best part is this EP is just the beginning of things to come from Marcus Arrilius. The EP plays as part one of a three-part progression, with his official album coming in October, and his EP following in December. The Rise of Marcus Arrilius is available for download at Suncloud.
