Denver – Something Underground is pleased to announce the release of “Confessions,” Saturday, December 14, 8pm at the Bluebird Theater in Denver. “Confessions” is the sixth release from Denver band Something Underground and was written and recorded at the band’s studio warehouse in north Denver and funded through a successful crowd-sourcing campaign. Writing and recording the album at their studio warehouse allowed the group to create a completely autonomous record and flex their creative muscles. The “Warehouse,” as it is known colloquially to Denver musicians, not only serves as a recording studio, but also as a rehearsal space, an intimate concert venue, a home for collaborative opportunities for regional and national musicians, and the residence of brothers Josh and Seth Larson.  “Feeling comfortable in the studio is half the battle of getting a good performance. It’s a gift to record in the same place I make my breakfast every morning. It’s quite comfortable, and often smells of gluten-free blueberry pancakes,” says Seth Larson, vocals, guitar. Something Underground regularly hosts Warehouse Gatherings, a chance for local musicians to network with other musicians and “jam” into the wee hours of the mornings. Party attendees are encouraged to bring their instruments, hop on a mic and let the musical creativity take hold. “These jams bring musicians from all walks of life together and the result is mind-blowing. When John Popper (Blues Traveler) and Justin Spencer (Recycled Percussion) make a special trip to join in, you know something really special is happening,” says Josh Larson, vocals, bass.  While working, playing and living together may put a strain on most siblings, the arrangement has brought an uncanny synergy to the Larson brothers’ music. A simple glance from one to the other on stage can indicate a change in the pace, style or even lyrics to a song. One follows the other’s lead as though through a psychic connection. Drummer Trevor Mariotti is not excluded from this incredible bond. Referred to by some as the “brother from another mother,” Mariotti knows implicitly when the brothers are about to switch up a favorite tune from rock to reggae or blossom into a mashup of pop favorites.  The band will officially drop “Confessions” at the Bluebird Theater in Denver Saturday, December 14, 8pm. Supporting acts include Angie Stevens & the Beautiful Wreck and Dave Preston. Guest performers include Ryan Chrys, Josh Skelton and others. “Confessions” was created in collaboration with Grammy-nominated writer/producer Elan Morrison. Tickets are on sale now through AXS.com.
