I’ve known We Were There front man Joey Jaraczewski for quite a while now, since more than a couple crazy nights on tour back before this band began, and if there is one word to describe him and the approach WWT is taking to their music, that word is passionate. Their EP Learn Every Word is a very strong take on old school pop-punk for such a young band.

Reminiscent of earlier bands like The Movielife and The Starting Line, We Were There takes heartfelt and emotional lyrics and layers them on top of thrashing drum lines and power chords that when all boiled together, provide the perfect soundtrack for dreaming and anthem for turning their dreams into reality. The recording shows a solid band that has room to prove themselves, and we hope they will have a new record out to sing along to next time they come through Denver.
