2012 ULTIMATE MUSIC XPERIENCE (UMX) BANDS ANNOUNCED
Eclectic Mix of Musical Genres will Highlight Two-day ‘Battle of the Bands’ and
Includes Acts such as THE FOOT, Ben Park Drive, and Caleb Slade
Denver, Colo. – March 5, 2012 – The Ultimate Music Xperience (UMX) returns to Bender’s 13th Ave. Tavern on March 24 and 25, 2012 (10am-6pm both days). This two-day battle-of-the-bands features roughly 80 local, primarily undiscovered solo and group acts competing for the opportunity to play at one of the largest music events in the state: the CHUN Capitol Hill People’s Fair. Now in its 41st year, the People’s Fair has provided an opportunity for Colorado bands to make their impression on the local music scene. The 2012 People’s Fair is June 2 and 3, 2012.
“With an increased number of entertainment applications this year, we are looking forward to an exciting Ultimate music Xperience,” said Executive Director Roger Armstrong. “It’s always amazing to see how talented our local musicians are, and it’s satisfying to feel that we are helping to expose them to our 250,000 People’s Fair attendees from all over the state.”
The UMX is a FREE event and will include prize giveaways, celebrity emcees from 99.5 The Mountain, and a lot of great local music. The complete UMX schedule (subject to change) is now available at www.chundenver.org (under the People’s Fair tab).
The public is invited to vote for their favorite acts and be a part of the selection process for People’s Fair entertainment! Every vote counts in deciding the musical line-up for the 2012 People’s Fair.
