First Lady of Denver to Announce Music Competition Finalists

DENVER – First Lady of Denver Mary Louise Lee will announce on Monday eight finalists for her “Bringing Back the Arts”music competition.  The competition was open to all Denver Public high school students. 

A Selection Committee composed of local artists and volunteers reviewed the nearly 80 music samples to select the eight student finalists.  The finalists will go on to compete at a special concert at the Bluebird Theater on March 18 for the top three prizes – ranging from a KBCO Studio C session to an opening act for an AEG concert. 

The “Bringing Back the Arts” initiative will raise money to hire more DPS arts, music, dance and theatre teachers as well as host special youth events.  CLICK HERE to learn more about the initiative.
